FAQs

Can I visit the lodges? Yes, we welcome people to view or facilities and meet our team. However visits are by appointment only so please call or message to arrange a day and time.

Are stay charges per day or per night? We charge per day for our stays, this includes the day of arrival and the day of departure. This is so that we are prepared for your dog’s arrival without the chaos of preparing a room straight after a dog had departed.

Do I need to pay a deposit once I have submitted my forms? We require a total deposit of 50% of the entire stay for each booking at the lodge and this is required in two stages. A 25% deposit on the initial booking as a date securing fee and a 25% deposit 6 weeks prior to their stay as the confirmation of the stay. All deposits are non-refundable. No dates will be secured without the first deposit and if the second instalment of the deposit is not received on the specified date stated on the invoice then your dates will be released and no refund on the first deposit will be returned. The remaining balance will be due on arrival. This payment is non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

What time are arrivals and departures? Times are between our opening hours of 9:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Saturday and 10:00am-3:00pm Sunday. We do advise that arrivals are earlier so we can settle them in through our working day. Premium days and bank holidays may vary and be a more structured time set between Maerose Lodge and the owners.

What items will I need to bring for my dog on their arrival? 1.Food for the entire stay is essential as we do not supply your dog’s food. 2.Vaccination card - as proof of all vaccinations stated in the booking form. PLEASE NOTE YOUR DOG WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED ON ARRIVAL WITHOUT THE CARD BEING SHOWN. 3.All forms to be completed correctly and signed. 4.Dogs must be wearing a collar. 5.Any medication required for there entire stay. 6.Any bed, bowls, blankets, toys etc that you would rather your dog use if ours are not required.

Do you allow trial days? We do accept trial days for dogs in certain circumstances, however the number of days will be limited and will be dependent on availability.

What are the Maerose rules? As we are a small establishment and treat all dogs that are in our care as if there were our own we do have a small amount of rules to make sure all dogs enjoy their stay with us. 1.We must be able to handle, play and interact with your dog freely without any aggression towards Maerose Staff. 2.We must be able to attach a lead to enable us to go for walks. 3.Dogs on medication-must be easy to handle and accept the medication required.

What activities are available to my dog? Activities will be tailored to each individual dog, taking into account there age, size, breed medical condition and weather. Exercise sessions on the premises will be off lead (unless requested otherwise on the booking form) in our secure garden areas. Off site river walks on a lead are offered (if stated on the booking form) Puzzle toys, treat games, scent games are set out inside and outside for all dogs to receive mental enrichment as we believe this is as important as physical exercise. We also leave plenty of time for cuddles.

Will my dog be able to interact with other dogs? We would like nothing more than for your dog to make friends with our other residents, if your dog is sociable and loves playing with others and you have consented for your dog to mix with another then we will safely match him/her with another dog in our care. After an on lead meeting an assessment we will then allow off lead play, whilst always being supervised. However if your dog is not sociable or a little older and prefers to be alone then this is no problem at all they will still receive the same amount of time off lead play.

Do you accept titre testing? No, unfortunately we do not accept titre testing.

Do you accept XL Bullies? No, sorry our licensing and insurance doesn’t permit us to board any breed that is on the banned list, including the XL Bully.

Do you except unspayed and unneutered dogs? Yes, we do accept both. All we ask is for any females that are boarding to inform us of there season cycle to prevent any unexpected matings to occur.
